Re: Aces @ UNI

Yikes! Fixing now. Thanks for the heads up. Not used to Tuesday games!

Re: dru smith

My fault to speculate on the initial report. I shouldn't have, but took an educated guess. I was unaware that he had issues in both feet until getting a chance to speak with Marty about it last night (originally, I could only get a confirmation on the timetable) and that the plantar fasciitis was no...

Re: Student section, Band

Aces & Eights wrote:If the game was between Thanksgiving and early January it was probably a high school band. UE was on semester break.

I want to say it was one of the first four home games this year, but I could be wrong. It hasn't happened since then, so I'll give a free pass. It was just odd.

Re: Student section, Band

Fwiw, I've heard the band is only required to go to four games a semester for class credit.

I'll never forget the time earlier this season when the team came out onto the floor with the fight song being played through the speakers while the band just sat there.

Bosse's coach: "Through all the kids being recruited, there are multiple levels to which coaches decide to offer a player. Some throw offers out like its candy, some make very decisive offers to very few, and some feel as if when they are ready to offer, they will offer. HE IS GOOD ENOUGH!"...

Re: Why ddn't Boo Gibson play v. Bradley on 1-6-18

Marty said Boo was expected to practice today for the first time in a while, but is also going through some illness and did not practice.

He sounded confident Boo will be back, if not relatively soon, then this season.

https://twitter.com/UEAthletics/status/948239417998749696 Most younger fans have no use for newspapers so requiring them to buy a newspaper is probably a non-starter. Do you think they even know where the newspaper is available for purchase? I assume millennials still walk into gas stations and see...

Re: 2020 IN C Noah Hupmann

I didn't get to fit this in the story, but Noah said he's attended many UE camps/games and has known the Simmons for a long time. He's friends with Marty's son, Cole, and said he's always liked Marty.

Re: 2018 NC PG Jomaru Brown

There's been no confirmation. No Courier article, he hasn't tweeted a picture of him signing, hasn't retweeted anything about it. And verbal commits still lists him as a verbal commit when they show Aleks who has indeed signed his LOI as signed. Asked him to let me know when he's signed. I've heard...

Re: 2018 IN PF Aleks Novakovich 6'10"

UE basketball lands first 2018 commitment from 6-9 Aleks Novakovich http://www.courierpress.com/story/sports/college/evansville/2017/11/07/ue-basketball-lands-commitment-6-9-novakovich/841152001/ Love how the CP Article headline says he's 6-9 but the beginning of the second paragraph says he's 6-10...
