Re: Is this the new UE logo

It’s more than the logo - it’s branding. While the format of block interlocked letters may not be unique, the color scheme and moniker ‘UE’ is. The fact we are UE and not EU should no longer be in question. Look around a bit - if I say ‘ISU’ who am I talking about? The Redbirds, Sycamores, or Cyclon...

Re: Plans to sell WUEV FCC Petition Info

Recently, the university announced a plan to sell WUEV to WAY-FM. WAY-FM is a national, contemporary Christian broadcaster with all programming generated nationally, nothing local. In addition, WAY-FM already has a frequency in Evansville..91.9. Not only do we lose the unique and local broadcasting...

Re: 2019 Non Conference Schedule

The Bahamas event is exempt. So it counts as one non-conference game. As of now it looks like it is just the 3 games and no on-campus games associated with it.

I’m excited for the UK game. You know it will have some National TV interest with Walter coaching.

Re: Breaking!!! Lance Wilkerson fired!

It was clearly a business decision. What I don't like is painting it as though it was a cost-cutting/restructuring move. 1. People can be let go because of cost-cutting measures. 2. Not all cost-cutting measures are the "right" costs to cut. Both statements can be true at the same time.

Re: Breaking!!! Lance Wilkerson fired!

Fired is not the proper term, IMO. His contract was not renewed due to budgetary restrictions, and of no fault of his.

Re: USI New Arena-Move to D-1?

I think there is a lot of smoke around the idea of USI going D-1. I do think it would be a mistake if they do. Bellarmine is private. Similar to UE, Dayton, Butler, Xavier, Belmont, Valpo, etc. A private school should use its athletic team as an arm of its marketing/admission process. Look at Butler...

Re: Branding Announcement Press Conference

https://www.evansville.edu/live/ Broadcast from YouTube. The star logo is gone and Ace Purple has a new look. The new UE logo is reminiscent of the UK logo, especially the all purple version. Possibly inspired or in tribute to Coach McCarty. The color orange remains to highlight the school colors o...

Re: Speaking Dog

This I know for certain - new logos, Aces in script and interlocking U and E, and a slight makeover for Ace Purple. Interlocking logo is for entire university, not just athletics. One of or maybe the only reason the book store had a big clothing sale a short time ago. Probably still have plenty of ...

Re: Everything changes now - New CP article

I hope we are better than the 2014-15 team on most fronts. 19-11 regular season. 9-9 MVC, 0-1 Arch Madness. I would like to see the Aces better those three marks. Can’t say too much about the postseason (that team won 5 straight to win the CIT). I’m not sure it matters ‘who else we sign.’ I think th...

We did everything we could.

Unfortunately, I’m not sure you can say the same about our previous staff. I will still never understand how they could blow a chance at a medical redshirt.
