Re: N.L.I Signing Period

Trusting that WMc agreed with Pitt, that Peace had potential to be a player in the ACC. Doesn't mean that there isn't work to be done to improve in areas of his game, but he is not a wasted scholly if UE can enhance him as a rim enforcer and rebounder. Both were huge gaps in our team this past year....

Re: Porter Moser shuns St. Johns

Moser was making $900k according to the Trib. He likely got a 25-30% bump as they are rewriting his contract. He deserves it; a class guy who doesn't need the NYC hassle. The Pitino idea wouldn't surprise me at all, if they can figure out a way to spin it. Rick's record of kids going NBA would appea...

Re: Porter Moser to St. Johns

I'm probably wrong to underestimate the power of the almighty dollar, but IMHO, Moser will stay at Loyola, with a pretty good bump in salary and a contract that will stretch for 10 years, guaranteed (I think he's already signed thru '26). It won't be the $$s that St. John's will offer, but the NY dr...

Re: 2019 F Michael Moreno

It's a credit to P Hickey that we are providing support, through media, to Michael. Any player is watching what the schools and their media say about him. IMHO, we gained a step, when Mike Young left Wofford. BC? maybe some appeal because they are ACC, but what is the connection? Art can tell Michae...

Re: 2019 WG Tristen Newton

On the 6-9 "ACC player", the only guys i see that are close are Javan White from Clemson 6-10, ave. 10 min. per game, and Sylvester Ogbonda, also 6-10, who played in 10 games last year for G. Tech. I'd take Javan in a heartbeat. Admittedly he didn't play a lot for Clemson, but I've heard o...

Re: 2019 F Michael Moreno

I think we've got a real shot. Moreno is a talent, but the market seems to find it's center, and Moreno really fits better as a true forward at UE, vs. an Iowa, where they want 6-8/9 guys. Wofford is a good program, but the Southern Conf. is not on the same level as the MVC. The only reason I would ...

Re: Questions about Evansville the city

Hi Drake fan. Some of the other posters have given you a good description of Evansville, so my comments will be a bit different. Since I've travelled a bit, including to Iowa a fair amount on business, I'll just say this. If you are comfortable in Des Moines, or one of the metro areas of Iowa that a...

Re: USI New Arena-Move to D-1?

Can a city of 250k people support 2 mid-major D1 programs? Yes, if both programs are successful. Not just OK, .500 teams, but GOOD, solid 20ish winning programs, year-after-year. UE has done well, bringing WMc, upgrading recruiting, and selling season tix, but if USI did go D1, it would siphon off s...

Re: Speaking Dog

We're serving up a pretty tasty stew for a guy who could contribute right away. Europe trip, Bahamas tourney, UK away, and lots of minutes for the right guy, esp. a big who has moves and can get up and down. I'm not bothered by Lance dropping a little tease here and there. Overall, it's good to have...

Re: Everything changes now - New CP article

Spot on, Tom. KJ will be better having the ball delivered to him, rather than being the primary ballhandler. He may even be a better 6th man, than a starter, but that will sort out over the course of the next months. If we have the right chemistry, we can be in the mix, and if you can compete week a...
