So, that leaves 3 open scholarships, right?

So, we need to find a way to get 3 of these 4:

Newton - SG
LaRavia - SF
Dixon - SF
Height - C

Agreed! A big guy is a must.

On a side note, I think Dixon is listed as a power forward. Although he probably could play the 3 and the 5 spot as well.

Forgot about that one.
For me that would leave LaRavia on the outside looking in.
...... and you never know what the off season holds .

I agree LaRavia on the outside looking in.... Could walk on if the grades = an academic scholarship

1. Dixon
2. LaRavia
3. Height
4. Newton

If we are talking about those 4 guys
8-19 .....1986
16-12 ....1987 --- MCC Champ
21-8 .....1988 --- NIT
25-6 .....1989 --- NCAA
Key point, be patient, never judge a coach on Year 1!

I still would like to know what the great day in Evansville basketball was all about. Since it would be a violation of ncaa rules to disclose will Lance reveal it to us when it’s no longer a violation?

And I might prize Newton over Dixon after looking at film in both again.

Yes. I would’ve put Newton at the bottom (thinking that size is what we need most). But then I saw Newton’s tape...wow. I wonder how it compares to Steph’s tape coming into Davidson. (Because it kind of looks like Steph’s Warriors tape).

I am pretty well with you Tom. Dixon is THEE priority....a skilled bag guy who can bang and score.
LaRavia is a big guy who can stretch the floor...that is the way basketball is now played and where the Aces, under Marty, sorely lacked.
Height is such an unknown. Unsure of his physical status at this time. My biggest concern is why UE is his only offer on Verbal commits.
Newton has unlimited range on his shoot, and would love to have him. I think he or LaRavia will be signing this week. But Evansville needs to "get big" in hurry. With Sam and Art on board next season, having an impact big guy would make Evansville a very difficult team.

Lance is perfect for the job considering his bottomless enthusiasm. Even Stone Age Marty from the town of Bedrock put a hop in his step. But I will caution that Lance gets excited when his bowl of Raisin Bran contains an extra raisin.
