I posted my wild guess yesterday, about Lance's mystery tweet, that I thought Demontay could be a priority for Walter! Demontay also had a visit to MTSU last week. I noticed earlier this evening that he had received the offer from WSU, but I hadn't seen about UE's offer! Hopefully he will choose the Aces!

Let the kid know that Aces fans want him here! It would be great for Walter to win a recruiting battle over Gregg Marshall!

Just a guess, but UE may be a wonderful fit for this young man. First, I think I saw where he had a 3.7 GPA in his Jr. Year of HS to go along with compelling court stats. Also sense that he wants to stay somewhat close to home, but then there's playing time, which he'd get plenty of at UE. PT would not be as clear at WICH. or MTSU, and WSU is a longer haul from Nashville. He is also reportedly a soft-spoken young man, and might fit in well with the apparent team chemistry folks noticed at Hoopfest.

I can see where some red tape might need to be cleared w/ NCAA, etc........ If he signs, could someone clarify when he'd possibly be able to practice? Then play? Obviously he'd be a fantastic addition, and Walter and staff have proven that they really CARE about these kids.

Wichita State's message board with link to Demontay's highlights:

https://shockernet.net/forum/wichita-state-athletics/wichita-state-recruiting/1148439-demontay-dixon-6-9-f-c-2019-juco-offered

He looks solid and does a bit of everything: pass, shot, dribble - Walters type of player.

So I take it that he could not play this year even though originally he had committed to Illinois State for this coming year.

His hometown of Franlin, Tennessee is less than three hours away. So it does make sense in a lot of ways. Hope that we hear something soon.

Go Aces!!!

HOOP HOGS CONTINUE TO RECRUIT FOR 2019

https://www.hogville.net/2018/10/17/hoop-hogs-continue-to-recruit-for-2019/

...
Arkansas is known to be interested in and evaluating at least three 2019 bigs — Jalyn McCreary, Demontay Dixon, and Reyhan Cobb — who have all indicated they will likely sign in the spring period.
...
Dixon (6-9, 205, forward / center, Walters State Community College in Tennessee) said that Arkansas started inquiring about him in early September, and that he’s “very interested” in the Hogs.

Dixon said he’s also being recruited by Cleveland, who in the past week received a highlight reel of Dixon, according to Walters State assistant coach Darrian Jones.

“I sent (Dixon’s) highlights to Coach Cleveland, and he’s supposed to get back with me about coming out (to watch Dixon play),” Jones said.

Dixon is reportedly a skilled and bouncy big, and when asked if that was true Dixon said: “Yes, that’s pretty accurate.”

“At the next level I will play the 4,” he said. “I am an all-around player. I can handle the ball pretty well for a big man and I can run the floor. Also, I can shoot the ball.”

Dixon was originally Class of 2018 when he played at Summit High School in Spring Hill, TN, as well as with Team Thad 17U (Under Armour Association circuit) during the grassroots season, but he suffered a labrum injury and had surgery which affected him during his senior season at Summit. Still, he managed to average 18 points, 10 rebounds, and 2 blocks per gam

He signed early (November 2017) with Illinois State. But, Dixon requested a release from his letter of intent in the spring of 2018 and ended up playing a few weekends during the grassroots season with Manimal Elite (KY) 17U on the Adidas Gauntlet circuit as he reopened his recruitment to explore his options. He enrolled at Walters State CC for the 2018-19 season.

Dixon is a freshman qualifier, which means he can sign as soon as the early period in November and have 4 years to play 3. In addition to Arkansas, Dixon said he’s heard recently from D1 schools Tennessee State and Morehead State.

I think he's a better fit at Evansville and would surely get more playing time. I like to see 6-9 players who can run the floor, handle the ball and shoot the 3-pointer. We should get him in November or he will go somewhere else. Lets hope he becomes an Ace..

The addition of a player of this magnitude along side the team Aces will have for 2019-20 would make the Aces scary. What a fit he would be. Glad for all the tweets he is getting from Aces fans....I would invite all aces fans to show him your support.

Would you all be okay with a line up of?

Guards: Lebinowicz & Cunliffe (I saw somewhere that Sam wants to play point).
Forwards: Hall, Williams & Dixon.
