Guys it is a win and it is a road win. May not have always been pretty. And to think we did it with our bigs in huge foul trouble all night. Glad the boys were able to get a win. Hopefully we can use this win on the road and put together a string of wins down the stretch. Our free throw shooting was outstanding and we rebounded decent against a team that had size and pretty athletic. On to the Bulldogs....Go Aces!!!
Just my opinion...I could be wrong!

Sorry Valpo - you’re not in the Horizon League anymore

Well, in the end the defense was what won the game. All three Valley games the Aces have won have been primarily due to great defensive efforts. Sometimes you have nights where the offense just isn't there, but defense should be pretty much a constant. At least the Aces are not in last place for awhile, and let's hope it stays that way, but we have a lot of tough games left to play. I still think they are a Thursday team.

No question.

Tonight's game was won at the free throw line. The Aces scored 46 from the floor and 29 from the stripe; Valpo scored 53 from the floor and 12 from the line. Which isn't an especially exciting brand of basketball, but it works if you can earn the calls.

I think we just watched a preview of the Thursday 7 vs. 10 matchup.

Good win - all road wins are good in conference. A few negatives, but no need to harp on those after a W.

And 75 points on about 72-73 possessions. Nice to be over 100 on the offensive efficiency. It’s been awhile since that has happened.

Go Aces!

Hammer, meet nail. They didn’t shy away from the contact on the offensive end, and earned every free throw tonight. This doesn’t make up for the two games dropped at home, but it helps.

Still doesn’t change my position, and it won’t, but I will take the win. After all, I did pick UE to win 6 conference games this year.
Martyism (noun) 11 years of mediocrity and not looking to change it one bit.

Insanity (noun) repeating the same action over and over again expecting a different result. Goes together with Martyism.

Ladies and gentlemen, we must BREAK THE CYCLE!

Any road win in the Valley is a good one even if it is against a rookie team from the Horizon League. Valpo is not yet used to MVC play and they should be the team that finishes last this year. It is not going to be Drake, the surprise of the season so far.

We need to hold serve at home the rest of the season and find a way to finish 6th and stay out of the Thursday game, this has to be the goal the rest of the way. I did not watch the game or listen to it but it sounds familiar to the two home games we won where we had a couple bigs in the lineup.

Go Aces..way to get a W on the road.
