at
#7 Evansville (6-9)

Sunday 3pm at Ford Center. Per Sagarin ratings, Loyola is a favorite by about 5 points.

Anyone know if Dru will be able to play in this one? If he is out, I don't see much chance. If he can play and be healthy enough to be a factor we have a chance. We played them pretty tough up there, but since then they have been playing well and have not been.

Dru Smith not expected to play for Aces against surging Loyola

https://www.courierpress.com/story/sports/college/evansville/2018/02/17/dru-smith-not-expected-play-aces-against-surging-loyola/348198002/

UE has lost three of its past four games and is again likely to be without sophomore Dru Smith.

The 6-3 guard is considered day-to-day with no timetable for return. Head coach Marty Simmons said Friday he did not anticipate him playing against Loyola. Smith is not practicing, but Simmons said he appeared to be feeling better Thursday than the day before.

He’s evaluated daily with a bone bruise on his right heel.

After dropping two of their first three Missouri Valley Conference games, the Ramblers have won 11 of 12 since junior Clayton Custer returned from injury. The 6-foot-1 guard, who originally signed with Iowa State and held offers from three other Big 12 schools, is arguably this league's favorite to win player of the year.

Custer did not play in Loyola’s 66-59 victory against the Purple Aces. It was only the first game back from injury for Ben Richardson, a preseason first-team all-MVC guard. Likely because of both, freshman Cameron Krutwig hadn’t fully demonstrated his enormous value to a team that is now surging.

Doesn't natter if he is playing like poop. Against the Aces that person will play like a NBA prospect everytime. Game plan will be to let be alone. :(

Outside of the OVC tourney, this is probably your best chance to see an NCAA tourney team play in the Ford Center this year.

Aces lead by 1 at halftime. Loyola not holding on to possession well, Boo effectively running the offense when he's in the game.

Not much shooting either side.

Well, that's probably as good as the Aces can play. Hopefully Taylor can settle down, and hit some shots in the second half. Aces playing very well on defense, and that's when they have been at their best. Hope they can continue it in the second half. First 5 minutes of the half will be very telling.

It would certainly help a lot if Custer would break his leg somewhere along the line. He knows what to do when he gets the ball. No substitute for being able to make your shots.
