I grew up with 8:00 pm start times for Aces games. That was the time through the '60s and first 9 years of the '70s. Game starts were moved to 7:35 pm after the plane crash. That wasn't bad, games were usually over by 9:30- 9:45. Then in the mid '90s, they were moved to 7:05 and
fluctuated between 7:05 and 7:35 until 2004, I believe, when they went to 7:05 to stay.
I think back to when my late uncle, a long time season ticket holder who went to every game, had to hustle from his job with Industrial Contractors, to home, clean up and barely get to the Stadium when the tip off time moved to 7:35.
There's no way fans like him could get to 6 :00 pm games
Think about this- high school games start at 7:30, with JV games at 6:00.
Aces games will now be starting at JV times.
As Letsgoaces said above, this is the first negative of the off season, and it's big.
For myself, this eliminates almost all weeknight games, as I finish work in the 5:15 to 6:15 range. I am really disappointed in the UE athletic department.

Regardless of what times or days of the week the games are scheduled, some one won't like it. They are trying to find a happy medium, but you can never please everyone.

Everyone has their personal slant on what they think is right but few of us know all of the statistics on who prefers what. They have polled fans and donors for years but even that data is slanted to existing and ignores potential new fans. I think it has been quoted here many times referring to our past style of play, but in this instance it also applies, "Continuing to do the same thing and expecting different results is the definition of insanity"

We have shaken everything else up, why not this?

Very disappointed for folks like you particularly....6pm makes no sense at all. I will be dropping the athletic department a note.

It wouldn't be Evansville if someone wasn't complaining about something. Nowhere to park. Too far to walk. Too dangerous to walk. Games too early. Games too late. Popcorn is in a big bucket instead of a box. Mascot is ugly. Mascot is immobile. Mascot is missing. Timeouts are boring. Announcer says "trifecta." Fans are too quiet. Fans won't sit down. Cops won't let you boo..........

I don't know but given the circumstances I'd certainly ask the question.

The attendance results will speak for whether it's a good idea. I'm good with any start time but I am retired. I think it will be a late arriving crowd because of the logistical issues for families. Time will tell.
