AVAILABLE PLAYERS NEEDED

Postby MdEspenlaub » Thu Oct 25, 2018 9:48 am

If any of you have elgibility left, you better call Walter.

As you know, Williams out, Becker, done, going home, DC out at least first 3 games.

I'd like to have some more details on the Becker thing...seems a little extreme but I have no insight so who knows. Injuries happen...but they really hurt when you've already got guys sitting out for other reasons. If the Becker thing is that serious UE needs to communicate.

Becker has bilateral tendonitis, reportedly, in both legs.

Quitting basketball seems extreme for jumpers knee. Rest, icing, anti inflammatory treatment, corticosteroid injections, and physical therapy all aren’t working?

This would be a shame, I really felt he was going to have a good year or years in Evansville.

I agree if it's true it massively sucks...he had a lot of talent and he had size which we desperately need.

And the hits just keep on coming. I bet there are still some people who don't think we are a Thursday team. Could the Illinois, and Xavier games be Duke-ish?

A certifiably bad situation. I'm sure Walter and staff have an APB out for ANYONE 6-4 or taller who might qualify for the second half of the season under SOME type of technicality. Becker is hurt, and he clearly wants to go HOME. His knee issues are either extreme, or he's simply taking this opportunity to move on. Giving him the benefit of the doubt, I hope we don't see him ready to play next fall at another school. Also makes me question whether we knew of the severity of his knee condition, or did we roll the dice without checking his physical condition. DC will play, if he can. I've been impressed with his toughness. Just hope it's just 3 games.....

What we need right now is Demontay Dixon in Evansville, rather than Walters St. JC., but I have no idea about NCAA rules regarding mid-season transfers, HS reclassifications, etc.
