Coach’s Show - Radio

Postby Tom Servo » Sat Oct 27, 2018 7:09 pm

Saw on twitter the first coach’s show will be Monday from 6-7 at Turoni’s.

According to the tweet you can email Jevin Redman if you have questions for McCarty. Here is the email - jevinredman13@gmail.com
8-19 .....1986
16-12 ....1987 --- MCC Champ
21-8 .....1988 --- NIT
25-6 .....1989 --- NCAA
Key point, be patient, never judge a coach on Year 1!

* All coach's shows are scheduled to be held at Turoni's Forget-Me-Not Inn on Weinbach Ave. I believe they switched between Turoni's locations in the past. Here are the radio stations to catch the show are:

WJPS 107.1 – Evansville/Boonville (flagship station) wjpsradio.com
WAOV 1450/97.7/97.3 – Vincennes waovam.com
WRCY 1590/106.7 – Mt. Vernon, Ind. wjpsradio.com (Fox Sports 1590 AM Evansville link on the right side of the page)
WROY 1460/92.1 – Carmi, Ill. wrul.com (WROY link down on the right side of the page)
WYFX 106.7 – Evansville wjpsradio.com (Fox Sports 106.7 FM Evansville link in the center of the page)

For out-of-towners like myself, all of these stations have websites with 'Listen Live' links but they are not working on my computer at this time (Sunday afternoon). I'll play around with the links on different devices tomorrow during the coach's show to see if any of them work. I never had an issue listening to games online through WUEV but it appears they won't be on WUEV anymore. Does anyone know if the games will be blacked out online? Some of the stations on the Purple Aces Network air other sporting events (including high school games) but WRCY will be the only one with conflicts (Purdue) according to an article Pat Hickey published in April**.

It should have always been @ The Flower Shop.
Closest to campus.
There (or) somewhere downtown, near The FC.
Couldn't understand why it went to Newburgh.

Correct.

Games will be broadcast live online via the WJPS web site and the WJPS mobile app. I assume coach's shows also but did not ask that specific question.

The Flower Shop, that brings back some memories. Charlie and Cy the bartenders. Why not in the Ridgeway Center? More involvement of the student body.

Couteau, I think The Flower Shop closed when the proprietor retired a couple of years ago.

Lol, indeed it did and became Turonis. But to the student body of the 60's and 70's it will always be "The Shop" :D

A 40 cent beer, and a little 5 or 6 oz. glass, for those who wouldn't drink out of the bottle. On other nights it'd be Hunter's Hideaway for a Kentucky steak w/pepper jack and a pitcher. All good!

I could not get any of the radio links to work either. WJPS on Simple Radio came the closest but wouldn’t connect either. Clicked on a link to report that it was not working and got a message that they would contact me when it was working.

Please let me know if you get one to work; otherwise us out of towners have no way to listen to the Coaches show tomorrow or even games in the future. Surely there is a link or app somewhere where one of the stations work. Just haven’t found it yet.
