pafan, I'm sure everyone on this board would appreciate an update like this before every game. Thanks! May not need to do the radio parts because they won't change, but the TV/video streaming would be very helpful. I went ahead and purchased the BTN Plus-Illinois package for $9.95 so will be able to see that game, and I think the Xavier game will be on one of the Fox sports channels, so should be able to see that. I hope we are at least competitive in those games. Will need to get on ESPN Plus before the Wesleyan game.

This game may be a challenge. They have a couple D1 transfers and a lot more size than we do.

Not sure I agree with the statement that they have “a lot more size than we do”. As they have one player over 6’7’. That player only played a total of 31 minutes last year and averaged 1 rebound and 1.3 points a game. However, since he is 7’3” and has had a year to improve he definitely could cause issues; but I think he will probably have more issues keeping up with the pace of the game. DC better not get in foul trouble.

Note: Evansville will be undersized significantly in every D1 game this year and definitely should not take this this D2 team lightly.

Not sure why, but I kind of like this starting five, especially if Riley can shoot from farther than three feet from the basket. Heard he worked hard on that part of his game this off season. Hope it pays off.

He’s been the most productive player since he came in. 8 in 9 minutes. He also has 3 assists. Looks like coach is experimenting with lineups.

I guess one of the best stats is 15 points off of 13 TO’s. Free throws needs to improve but having a nine point lead at the half is a positive.

Listening on the radio.

Negatives: Slow start; Outrebounded by a D2 team 24-16; shooting 53% from the charity stripe.

Positives: Defense picked up and the tide started to change; forced 13 turnovers to our 6 turnovers; 15 points off turnovers; lead 15-4 in bench points; DC made a three; only 5 fouls to their 11 fouls - only Marty Hill with 2 fouls. Marty Hill, DC and Noah sounded like they played well.

And of course, the biggest stat is we are up 36-27 and played better the last 10 minutes.

We need to widen this lead and let the walk-ones play in the second half.
