Their fans are so in tune they don’t need cheerleaders or students to show them what to do next. They just do it. You could tell everyone was having fun.

Maybe some day......

It's a lot easier to do when you follow a team that wins National Championships, and has a Hall of Fame coach.

Attendance for home games continues to rise. After the Ball State game, we're averaging 4,759 people per game. We currently trail Bradley (4,989) who is first in the league in average attendance.

Given that many have complained about rebounding I'm pleasantly surprised by the defensive rebound percentage stat. We rank third in the conference! So perhaps our rebounding isn't as bad as some think.

Couple things that jump out at me is are free throw percentage it's not bad compared to the valley, and minutes played we only have one player on that list when in years past we would have three or four on that list.

As many have said, rebounding is a hustle and how bad do you want it stat. I think the boys are putting in work on the boards, and playing with taller teams.

Pleasantly surprised with attendance. Figured we would average about 4500 this season, but with a couple of strong crowds, we might hit 4800-4900. Not too shabby.

I went back and looked at past years. Regarding home attendance, since 2012-13 we have been 8th (Creighton's last year), 8th, 8th, 6th, 7th (WSU's last year), and 6th. To be 2nd at this point in time is pretty amazing. I think we will need to open the upper deck for Indiana State on Jan. 12th, maybe even for Loyola on the Tuesday before that.

2017-2018 average home attendance: 3782
2016-17 average home attendance: 4116

this year:
KWC: 4497
today: 4578

Obviously, it is early and a small sample size, but I like the early returns and direction.

I think it is Tim Servo (correct me if I am wrong) who has indicated a 6,000 benchmark in the past for an attendance target. I think if we can get there in 2 years that would be a great sign for the program and a boost to the athletic department.

I think we will get there. I am optimistic by the things happening on the court, and certainly know and understand our best players will be suiting up next season.

Update:
Our average attendance is now 4803 through the non-conference. We have had 2 games of 5,000+ in attendance (Ball St and Green Bay), which is one more than we had all of last season.

If we continue to be competitive and show improvement, I think it will be likely we average over 5,000 for MVC play.

And, as numbersdontlie mentioned, it certainly would be great to have a couple of games where we need to open up some seating in the upper level.
