RE: UCLA
The results from UCLA under Alford are clearly not good enough for Bruin nation. While UCLA should have their pick of kids on the west coast (and they often do), they now have BIG recruiting competition from Gonzaga, OR, AZ, ASU, even USC. He may be given the balance of the year to see how the team responds through the conf. schedule, then to see if they make the dance, but there are several coaches out there who could be better fits, and IMHO are simply better coaches than Alford. I think he's only got one year left on his contract after this one. Chickenfeed for UCLA. They just need to identify the right successor.

Some coaches who are successful at the mid-major level cannot get it done at the power 5 level. Alford,Ex Butler coaches Collier at Nebraska, our assistant Lichliter at Iowa. And many more.

Not that I am an Alford fan, he went 152-106 in 8 seasons at Iowa and 124-63 in 5+ seasons at UCLA. That is getting it done. Two first rounds and a second round exits from the NCAA at Iowa and three sweet 16 appearances and a first four exit at UCLA.

I turned this game on when I turned off the non competitive bowl game between Clemson and ND.
Great win for WKU for sure. They have some size and athleticism on that team for sure.

Charles Bassey is a beast at the 5. He totally dominated Reevers of Wisconsin and was a huge factor in the victory.

I can see it being Murray State vs Jacksonville State as to who wins the OVC and makes the tournament. Belmont may have something to say about that but the loss tonight at home did not help. Our loss to Jacksonville State may end up not being that bad of a loss in the long run. I would be just fine if it ends up being our only home loss of the year
