Cowboys game

Postby acecard » Tue Nov 27, 2018 11:01 am

Like most Aces game this year, this is a hard game to predict. If the Aces hit their 3's, we will be it. If not, then not so much. I put the Cowboys in the same boat as Ball State. A dangerous team, if you don't bring your "A" game. They are a guard oriented team with their 3 top scorers listed as guards on their roster. Justin James at 6'7" is their leading scorer at 23.3 points a game, and 8.3 rebounds per game. Need to put out best defender on him, and keep him from getting the ball as much as possible. Hunter Maldonado at 6'7" scores 14.2 points a game, and also gets 8 rebounds a game. Again, both are listed as guards. Defense will be at a premium for this game. If you let those two guys run wild it will be a long night. Defense, as played during the first half at Ball State, will not get it done. I know we have said that wins, and losses, are not that important this year, but I sure hate to lose games we can win if we can play to our potential.

Evansville opens @-3.5 against the Cowboys. O/U 145.5 u-10.
Should be another good test for the Aces.

Cowboys were already beaten, this season, by a "Purple" mascot.

This game is simple. If Kuhlman gets down low, fights for boards, draws fouls on the low block, and gets away from the three point line so much, the aces should win going away. If not, this game will be tight.

I just want to thank those that scheduled the Christmas tree lighting in game nite and made it so the people that show up early to get the close handicap parking were unable to park.
Thanks for that.

Two and a half minutes in and we already have 2 charging fouls called on us. Without looking at stats, seems like we have a lot called on us this year. It's good that our players are aggressive but we need to stop and pop these shots.

First media timeout at 15:17 and the Aces are up 2-0 so a sloppy offensive game for both teams so far. KJ is 0-2 from 2 and Hall is at least 0-1. Would like to see them try higher percentage shots.

First one to 10 wins. Marty's team were always tight to begin games. Kind of looks like these Aces are tight also.

14:14 to go and KJ picked up his second foul (blocking foul). 14:03 and DC has yet to play. 4-0 UE is the score.

Pathetic basketball for both teams so far - hope DC brings energy and the paint presence this team desperately needs.
