Unfortunately for Drake the Norton kid is out for the year with a torn ACL.

Sorry to see this news. I watched the games Drake won in the Las Vegas tourney. Norton was impressive and was a key reason they won those games. Hoping he recovers completely and has an opportunity to play in the future somehow.

Sorry to here this. He's a senior and I think he already has used a redshirt.

Read on Twitter that drake is going to file for a waiver.

This is exactly what waivers should be used for, not a P5 also-ran trying to make false statements to get a transfer rule waived for a kid sniveling because his losing coach got canned.

Hope he gets it.

I hope he qualifies.
He seems to be quite the competitor.
Would not only definitely be good for theDRAKE, but also The VALLEY as well.
However, that being said.....a positive NCAA ruling should really piss us all off, if Marty Hill doesn't receive the same opportunity.

Agrer, the more I think about it it's almost like it was intentionally done to Marty Hill because the previous coaching staff didn't want Marty.I I would like to think that they intentionally did not do it but you never can tell

This. There is no way around it. He played in 14 games (Hill played in only 9). The rule is quite clear on the waivers. While I feel for the kid in that he blew his knee out, at what point does the NCAA draw the line for medical waivers? Kid misses one game due to injury, he can qualify for one? Sorry, but I for one hope that he doesn’t receive one because of the bad precedent it would, not could, set.

Getting a 6th year is much harder than getting a 5th.
