The quality of teams that have offered Darrington tells me something. This kid has got a game and could probably help the Aces program. The time for signing Letters is coming fast and our future success may be determined by signings this Spring more than any other. Apparently there are a lot of holes to fill to be successful because I don't remember any Aces coach roaming the JC ranks more than now.

With the offers he has coming in we don't stand a chance.
Especially with an offer from Tennessee

I imagine that is what many said when the Aces offered Silas,. One thing for sure is that you will never get a top player if you don't try. Some might say yes

I would think since he will be a junior, he would want to play. So, chances are more likely he will get more playing time with a mid-major, rather than a power 5 school. Of course, I don't know what the big schools are telling him, so wait and see I guess. I agree letsgoAces, you never know until you try, so why wouldn't we offer him. At least we are being somewhat aggressive at the signing period. Based on what I have seen in video clips, I like Vance Johnson quite a bit, as well as Darrington and Hill. Don't get me wrong, I would love to have Jalen Adaway, but I think he is waiting on something bigger and better.

Vincennes guard Darrington in high demand

http://www.courierpress.com/story/sports/college/2017/03/30/vincennes-guard-darrington-high-demand/99802918/

Darrington has stockpiled more than a dozen NCAA Division I scholarship offers after a season in which he led the Trailblazers to a 32-3 record and a spot in the Elite Eight of the NJCAA Division I national tournament. Regional schools such as Evansville and Western Kentucky have offered, along with Tennessee, Memphis, Colorado, Seton Hall and Nebraska, among others.

“I probably won’t start narrowing it down until after the Final Four,” he said. “You might have guys transferring or leaving. You never really know what’s going on, so I’ll probably start narrowing it down early next week and that’ll probably be when I start scheduling some visits.”

Darrington led the Trailblazers in average points (20.7) and assists (5.1) this season. He also boasted a 2.2 assist-to-turnover ratio and made 43.1 percent of his 3-point attempts...

If Darrington was at any risk of being overlooked himself, he fixed that with a 45-point performance Dec. 2 in a win against nationally ranked Indian Hills. He shot 17 of 24 from the field in that contest, which was played in front of a number of scouts.

Franklin said that game vaulted the Toledo, Ohio, native to the top of the junior-college point guard lists. In the JucoRecruiting.com Top 100, Darrington is No. 13 overall and the No. 2 point guard...

“I’m just looking to make it to the NCAA Tournament next year, play for a good coach, a good program that cares about you on and off the floor,” Darrington said. “I’m really just focusing on the best fit for me. I only have two years … I don’t really have time to make a mistake.”

Sounds like a good kid that got overlooked out of high school; but has turned it into a positive and really developed his game...I'm guessing that the coaching staff would prefer a freshman point guard to develop; however, with the Vincennes connection that UE has (and if someone like Tai Bibbs does not work out) this is a very intriguing prospect. It may come down to taking the best available player - obviously one of the two scholarships has to go to a big man.

Signing Day starts April 12th. We will have to stay tuned to see how this turns out.

Franklin said that game (for Chris Darrington) vaulted the Toledo, Ohio, native to the top of the junior-college point guard lists. In the JucoRecruiting.com Top 100, Darrington is No. 13 overall and the No. 2 point guard...

Note: For reference, Vance Johnson, was 77th on a top JUCO list that I saw recently. (Not sure if it was the same list though.)

Obviously both are really good players.
