D1 Transfers - Cool Tool

Postby UE0958 » Tue Apr 18, 2017 5:06 pm

If you scroll down a little you can see the list of who is still available and sort by things such as what school they are leaving and if they available immediately etc. There are a few immediately available bigs but lots of big fish are looking for the same thing as UE.

Enjoy!

Tongue in cheek humor but if anyone sees the coaching staff please share the website with them.

There are some very targetable guys on that list.
It will be interesting to see if Marty wants to take anyone that would have to sit for a year though.

Here is a guy I saw on that list that may be a possible target. I believe we recruited him out of high school too. He would need to sit out a year but would provide a true stretch 4.

Ryan Fazekas

Transferred from Providence

Year 2015 (SO)

Position SF

Height 6-8

Weight 215

Hometown Chesterton, IN

In a best case scenario I would say that we still get a quality big man for this year and have this guy ready for next year to replace Dalen's scholarship (or even Blake's or Solomon's scholarship if Hainna doesn't get his third year).

But with one available scholarship, not sure that we can do that unless Blake gets an academic scholarship or the kid pays his own way for a year.

I think we really need another big man for next year though; otherwise we will really have problems when other teams go big or our big guys are in foul trouble or God forbid hurt. We just don't have the depth of that position that I would like.

Per Ryan's twitter feed on April 17th:

Transferring update: I have taken official visits to Fordham and Valpo University. Currently visiting Vanderbilt University.

Visiting Valpo? Come on Marty, go after this kid! I understand the need for a big man this season, but I doubt we will find a true immediate impact big this late in the recruiting cycle. If we do, great, but I highly doubt it.

You may not know the cities in NW Indiana, but Valpo is 10 miles from his hometown.

Exactly 10 minutes to Valpo, 5 hours to Evansville.

If we don't get another quality big man, we would survive in the post; but I doubt that Evan Kuhlman would redshirt in that scenario as it would be an all hands on deck approach to filling the post at that point. Then it becomes just the best available athlete that we can get regardless of position.
