This roster for 2017-2018 must have been added today. Through this past weekend the roster was still for 2016-2017.

Now, that's a reach for a stiff big man just to fill out a roster. These are the types of desperation signings that we had feared would come true.

I know I was very surprised when Coach mentioned his name during the teleconference. You may recall the Aces helped get Dainius on the squad at VU. Out of high school I think there were either problems with admissions or there were concerns about his basketball skills. So, it's not a huge shock that the Aces have him on the squad, but it is a surprise they didn't announce once he was on campus. My concern is that they just took Dainius when Silas left because Dainius was available. I hope he's able to contribute.

That is exactly what I was thinking as well. It appears to be a scramble to fill in for Silas, hopefully it isn't. It's pretty bad fans have to tune into a Coach's Teleconference to find out about a recruit. That's just pathetic.

Glad you listened to it though.

Could he be the next Rokas Cesnulevicius? A companion for a bigger piece of the puzzle not disclosed yet.

That could certainly be the case, I really hope so!

42% FT shooter? Wow, with him and Traore as our Centers, that position will be hacked every time they have a possible layup or post up in the paint.

Has our Lithuanian pipeline started produced sludge instead of a high grade product?

What we have here is a failure to recruit. Coaches could not find a D-1 Valley capable athlete to fill the 5 spot and chose to slide in the only big man left hoping to buy time until the next recruiting cycle. Maybe he fills a need but his past experience shows he is short on skills. The 5-guard offense is just around the corner with Blake plugging the middle.

UE adds Lithuanian transfer from Vincennes

http://www.courierpress.com/story/sports/2017/06/21/ue-adds-lithuanian-transfer-vincennes/103066794/

According to the courierpress: The 6-foot-9 and 240-pound junior-to-be signed a grant-in-aid. He will be eligible to play immediately for UE.

So does "grant-in-aid" mean that he is not on scholarship?
