Well that is not good...but not surprised...here begins the game of watching everyone we want drop off the list...
8-19 .....1986
16-12 ....1987 --- MCC Champ
21-8 .....1988 --- NIT
25-6 .....1989 --- NCAA
Key point, be patient, never judge a coach on Year 1!

Lost out to the Columbia Lions, an 11-16 Ivy League team?
Wow - This staff just can't close out a deal.

You may have answered your own question. The long list of suitors for Tai were mostly strong academic universities. The education and prestige of being an Ivy League graduate is quite impressive. You never know exactly what a kid and his family are looking for. I have no need in knocking a guy who wants to go to Columbia, no matter how bad I may have wanted him to come to UE. Silas Akhecke came to Evansville because they offered the major he most desired - for that reason he said no to power 5 conference schools.

Not knocking him at all - great future after graduation. Just hurts when we lost out. Unless I am wrong, Ivy League doesn't offer athletic scholarships, but they must be offering him a heck of an academic package.

They don't offer academic scholarships either. Everything based on family need.

Congrats to this young man. Earning a UE degree is obviously a great thing with great opportunity. Graduating from a school like Columbia sets you up for life as well. Best of luck young man.

Too bad we couldn't have landed him then he could go to Columbia for his Masters.
