Shea Feehan - 2018 Grad Transfer Candidate (6'0" PG)

Postby Aces101 » Fri May 04, 2018 7:03 am

According to Pat Hickey, Evansville has contacted and shown interest in 6'0" PG Shea Feehan (RS JR) at DIII Eureka College. He has recently received an offer from D1 Bryant. According to various sources on twitter, he is also gaining interest from Western Kentucky, High Point, Evansville, Tulane, Oakland, and Delaware. He would be a graduate transfer with one year of eligibility. He is rated as a 2-star recruit and has played against several D1 schools during his career....this year against Loyola, North Texas, and Central Michigan. Watch his highlights in the link below, all of these coming against those schools. He can really stroke the three at a 44% clip.....step backs, curls off screens, off the dribble.

This could be a good stop-gap option that would only fill a scholarship for one season. This would also still allow Silva to sign and bring this year's roster to 12 players, leaving 1 scholarship unused.

I like this strategy. Next year, this Feehan kid would come off the books along with Dainius. Those 2 openings + 1 unfilled spot would give these coaches 3 spots to fill with their recruits following a complete recruiting cycle. The Aces have offers out there to some talented kids who will be high school seniors next season (Rode, Etherington, Moreno, Hemenway, and Tristen Newton) that could potentially fill those openings.

Eureka is what, 23 mi. E of Peoria, IL & BRADLEY? IMO, a 1-dimensional 6'0" Div. III.5 G is NOT going to provide much of anything to McCarty's back court depth. Look closely @ his #'s v. these three (3) mid-majors which are "highlighted" in his promotional:

17 pts. v. Loyola (2nd game of season; notice - 2 assists):

24 pts. v. North Texas (season opener; notice - 0 assists):

I think you are, once again, missing the point.

Unless you're a proven D-1 College recruiter, you really don't have the credentials to criticize what many D-1 colleges are seeing in this young man #bottomline

I'm quite curious what graduate program he would be interested in at UE. There are so few available and mostly healthcare related.

lol - Maybe you can re-analyze the three (3) games you previously cited in support of his 1-yr. Aces bid?

"Many Div I colleges?" Give us a break...geesh.

I don't believe I ever referenced three games, I think you're getting me mixed up with somebody else.

Former Peoria Notre Dame (@pndhs) star Shea Feehan picked up his first D1 offer tonight from Bryant University (Rhode Island). Oakland, Evansville, High Point, Delaware all pursuing him, too. Shea is a no-brainer Division I player who can straight fill-it-up. Happy for him!

"No brainer?" I guess it depends on the "type" of brains who are analyzing his skills...

He has one (1) Div I offer...the rest is simply hyperbole. Look @ Eureka's '17-18 schedule:

http://www.eurekareddevils.com/sports/m ... 8/schedule

Also note his performances in the three (3) BLOWOUT losses to Loyola, North Texas & Central Michigan. As far as Bryant's Div I status, check last season's record & RPI. This must be a joke...

Take a step back...do you understand the rational in why Coach McCarty would want to recruit a senior for this years team???? The Aces will have an additional scholarship to work with this fall - those are the "prime time" recruits - not the spring. So unless the coach finds a player who he feels will make a huge splash, why give a 2 or 4 year scholarship to a kid who may have only marginal talent? It's not hard to figure out.

Lerch seems to be having difficulty understanding the use of a grad transfer PG as a stop gap to fill a spot until next recruiting cycle when a high school PG and/or potential transfer would be eligible and willing to join the roster.

Is Lerch a family member or friend of our previous staff?
