This would be a good transfer, just having our named mentioned is nice.

Sam Cunliffe tells me as of today he has a list of six possible transfer destinations. He said it's not necessarily a final list: Xavier, Grand Canyon, Pepperdine, Fresno State, Evansville and Minnesota. He said he will not be attending Washington.

No question he would be a cornerstone recruit. Supposed to be very bright and personable, too. In the guard dominated MVC, he could become a star. Glad we are on him, and I hope he becomes an Ace. With Labinowicz, we'd have a great start in '19 recruiting.

This kid seems to be a bit of a "head case" to me.
Quit on his second DI school, in 18 months.
As well as attending three prep schools prior, due to an attitude problem.

Yet he had a talent level that Kansas was interested and played there.

Now this was not just any school it was Kansas.
I’m guessing with the incoming class he thinks he may be able to play more elsewhere .

I would give him a shot.

Quite an athletic family.

Older sister is a world class sprinter. One younger sister could soon be a world class pole vaulter.

What? Arizona State coach Bobby Hurley said “I loved coaching him.” Kansas coach Bill Self said "“Even though we hate to see Sam leave, we totally respect his decision, Sam has been terrific since he’s been here. He’s been a great teammate. He’s been a guy that has put forth the effort and it hasn’t translated to playing time for him yet." Coaches Self and Hurley loved coaching the "bit of a head case." I will respect their up-close opinion about his attitude before I will accept your distant "seems to be" opinion. I'd love to see him in an Aces uniform.

It'll be interesting to see if he visits. UE is not KU or ASU in terms of size or environment, but Cunliffe's comments seemed to indicate that he valued teammates and "team." Maybe he just needs a smaller pond to provide minutes and a chance to be a significant piece of the roster. Since we don't know exactly why he has moved around a lot, the coaches will have to see if he "fits" at UE, provided we get a shot at him. Agoy from SMU, Louisville, Georgetown also moved around a lot, but if we could have signed him, he would have been a game-changer.

Speaking of Akoy, Louisville signed another graduate post shortly after he committed.

But Sam is obviously a program changing player, would be a great get. We would be set for the following season with two experienced wings waiting to play.

Whether we get kids (like Sam) or not, it is refreshing that McCarty is trying to get the higher rated prospects.
