ACES Survey

Postby acefan » Wed Mar 13, 2019 7:17 pm

Have you completed the Aces survey (link below) distributed today? What suggestions are you making? I expressed my displeasure with the 6 PM weeknight game times and the lack of night games on the weekends

I’m indifferent to game times . Work fine for me.I’ll be there either way. I work days.
The crowds didn’t suffer it seems.
I actually prefer the day games on weekends.

My complaint was that the band need to be there every game. Even if it’s a local high school filling in.

I failed to mention I also complained that the band wasn't always there!

What about lack if male cheerleaders? I feel like teams with male cheerleaders make more noise and creates a better atmosphere

I assume all of you who are suggesting things here are completing the survey and making your suggestions where they may have some impact!

It's a positive that they are conducting the survey. An area I would have commented about would have been schedule upgrade, had I thought of it. We have some great, potential opponents that we need to upgrade our non-conf. Several of the usual ideas like WKU, STL, etc., but we shouldn't rule out a home-and-home with teams that might be bundled for a road trip: Clemson and Davidson, Furman, Wofford, or UNC-Asheville. Ditto Dayton or Cincy with Wright St. or NKU. Maybe even Memphis with Murray or UT-Martin. We can be so much more creative, making sure that we have at least 2-3 P5 (or A10) schools scheduled every year.

Back to an old subject: is there any confirmation as to a holiday tourney for the beginning of next season?

Nice survey. I suggested later start times, band regularly attend games and show more enthusiasm. Jacksonville State's band was incredible at the OVC tourney. I asked for daily in season short social media videos (20-30 second) from the players or coaches asking fans to attend games, funny short story about the team, or monster dunks in practice. IU streams something everyday. Bring the women's team back to the Ford Center. How are they supposed to recruit quality players when they play in a building smaller than a high school gym? I also thanked the University for bringing in Coach McCarty.

I wish I would have suggested a weekly Walter McCarty TV coaches show.

I did the survey and filled it out thinking about all the sports and not just the men's basketball which this was clearly asking about more than anything.

We should all fill this out and it is great people in charge are asking for opinions from die hard to casual fans so now is our chance to voice our opinions just as we do on this site.

The comments part at the end is a good place to voice some of our thoughts on this forum about the band, game times, scheduling and more.

Go Aces !
